We've made some changes in 4.0.5 that remove some of the restrictions around using multiple browser windows or tabs.

Some users are happy to work with i-lign in a single browser window or tab, and they have always been able to do so without problems.

Other users like to have multiple windows open at the same time and switch back and forth between them. Since version 3 they have sometimes experienced system errors when they try to save changes. This is because i-lign stores the information you are editing on the server while you are editing it, and if you look at a different page in another window this can cause problems.

In 4.0.5 we've made some changes that will allow users to work in multiple windows with far fewer problems. So for example you can work on the gantt in one window and do your timesheet in another window, or edit tasks and view reports.

The remaining restriction, which we cannot change, is that you cannot do the same thing in two windows at the same time. So for example you cannot have two tasks open for editing at the same time - doing so may cause the data of one task to be overwritten with data from a second tasks, so users should be very careful not to do this.
