i-lign Roadmap

We help create workplaces where happy and productive people meet less, and make more and better decisions.

We offer organisations the project and portfolio infrastructure that best enables them to focus on core business and strategic goals.

We support the flow of ideas and innovation in and around an organisation, and we support organisations to work with each other.

We work so our customers will love their work, and love using i-lign.

The Next Release

A New Home Page – simpler, stylish, and more intuitive.

We've redesigned the 'Work Assigned' tab of the Home page, which is the first you see when you log in. Now, when you log in to i-lign, you'll find My List. My List is made up of anything you want to have right in front of you; for example, Tasks, Project Risks, Decisions to assess and Issues.

You can order and prioritise your work, and add and delete items as necessary. And as with the existing Home page, the Work Assigned tab of the 4.2 Home page lets you access any item you're dealing with, including Action Items.

A key difference is that only categories that apply to you will show up. For example, if you don't have any Timesheets to review, that tab won't be visible. (Your own Timesheet will be, though, and you'll be able to record your full week's hours.)

When you click on a feature tab, for example Tasks, all the Tasks you're assigned to will list. If you click on the name of a Task, the details of that Task will appear on the right, and with another click, you can access a detailed list of all your Tasks.

Your new Home page will instantly let you see what's assigned to you. We're confident that you'll enjoy its logic and ease of use.

Version 4.2.0 Homepage improvements

Activities – because some work stands alone.

We're introducing Activities so you can keep track of all those important bits of work you do that aren't part of a Project.

An Activity is a single piece of work, made up of a single Task with Action Items, that is vital to you fulfilling your purpose. It'll be grouped with other work under a Programme but is not otherwise connected to Projects.

Once you're assigned an Activity, or assign one to yourself, you can manage it from your new Home page.

StickyNotes – because your life is more than work.

Something else we came up with to make i-lign more truly useful for you, StickyNotes are your personal reminders: collect the drycleaning, ring Jeff, book flights. There's a StickyNotes tab on your new Home page, so you can add and manage them with just a couple of clicks.

As with every other i-lign feature that you're working with, you can add individual StickyNotes to My List and move them up and down the priority order when you're deciding how to run your day.

Enhancements to Reporting – more streamlined and useful.

i-lign 4.2 lets you apply filter / sort and save options to project PDF reports, as you currently can for programme PDF reports.

We've also improved Programme navigation options, and provided the ability to add multiple instances of the same subreport (for example, Risks over 60, Risks assigned to [], Risks recently closed). In addition, you'll be able to customise the subreport names.

Version 4.2.0 PDF reports

4.2 also brings in the ability to download the contents of database reporting tables (for Projects and Tasks / Milestones), and Timesheet data, directly into Excel's CSV format.

The Document Library – improved usability.

If you deal with the Document Library (now called Documents), the release of i-lign 4.2 will make your job easier.

We've pulled Documents up the menu – you'll now find the tab under Actions. Documents can have owners and dates, and you can associate them with other items such as Tasks, Risks or Change Requests.

When you upload a new version you can choose to keep the previous version, enabling you to see the history of a file.

And we've made the folders more useful by enabling you to hide documents inside the folders, which expand and collapse.

Skins – offering you variety.

Under your Change Preferences link, you can now choose between four 'skins' for the application: classic, the blue and white i-lign you're used to; high-contrast, a version of classic; kiwi, featuring New Zealand's patriotic colours of black, silver and white; and the vibrant cherry.
